A growing development in Kyle will soon add a pair of big specialty retailers along Interstate 35.
The projects have a combined estimated construction cost of $32.9 million. Both are listed with an estimated start date of Wednesday and an estimated completion date of Sept. 1, 2027.
Dick’s, a Pennsylvania-based big-box sporting goods chain, will spend $16.46 million to build out its space, the filing shows. Boot Barn, a California-based Western wear chain plans to spend the same amount for its buildout.
Filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation are preliminary and subject to change. The companies didn’t respond to requests for comment.
Kyle Park is being developed by NewQuest Properties, which broke ground on the project in the suburb south of Austin this year.
“We’re thrilled to bring Kyle Park to life for the residents of Kyle. This project will introduce a thoughtfully curated mix of retail, restaurants, and experiences that serve the community and elevate everyday living,” said Andrew Alvis, senior vice president/development partner at NewQuest Properties.
The city describes Kyle Park as a multi-phase development featuring retail, restaurants, specialty shops, wellness and personal care services, with additional office and entertainment components and planned multifamily housing connected to the Vybe Trail.
“Retail leakage studies have shown that Kyle residents regularly drive to neighboring cities to shop due to a lack of options,” said Rosie Truelove, executive director of strategic development for the city of Kyle. “Kyle Park addresses that challenge head-on by expanding retail and dining options here at home and we’re grateful for the support of Hays County in bringing this project forward.”
Beyond Dick’s Sporting Goods and Boot Barn, current confirmed tenants include T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Burlington, Barnes & Noble, BJ’s Brewhouse, Raising Cane’s, Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen, Chili’s, Dave’s Hot Chicken, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Scooter’s Coffee, EōS Fitness and Mister Car Wash.
