FIFA fever continues in Arlington, which has hosted five World Cup matches so far at ‘Dallas Stadium’
ARLINGTON, Texas — As World Cup fever sweeps across North Texas, Arlington is making sure the excitement leaves something lasting behind.
The city unveiled a new mini-pitch at George Stevens Park Monday, a compact, multi-use recreational space designed to make soccer and play accessible to everyone in the community.
The mini-pitch was donated as part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Legacy initiative by the North Texas FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee, with support from Host City Sponsors.
“Arlington deserves great parks and recreational opportunities, full stop,” said Mayor Jim Ross. “The same pride we’re putting on display for the globe this summer belongs to this neighborhood, to these families, and to these kids every day of the year.”
