Office Depot closing two stores in North Texas.

Office Depot is parting with a couple of stores in North Texas.

The retailer is shuttering stores in Grapevine and in Irving, according to signage at the shops on Tuesday. It’s not clear when the sites will close. Both had window displays saying they would be open on Independence Day.

At the store in Grapevine, located on West State Highway 114, signs at the front entrance said “nothing held back,” “store closing” and “fixtures, furniture and equipment for sale” along with “everything up to 40% off.” The Irving store, located on MacArthur Boulevard, had signs with similar messages. 

The local closings come after ODP Corp., which includes Office Depot and Office Max stores in the U.S. and Canada, was acquired by Atlas Holdings, an investment firm in a transaction valued at about $1 billion. It announced the completion of the deal near the end of last year that took the company private. 

Office products businesses, like some others in the retail industry, have faced challenges amid the shift to digital services and the rise of e-commerce. In the third quarter of 2025, ODP said it closed more than 60 stores in the past year as sales declined, according to regulatory filings and a company announcement. 

Office Depot has long been a retailer that provides items that might fill up business supply rooms and check off back-to-school lists. It sells everything from crayons and calculators to printers and shredders, its website shows. 

And while some stores are set to be closed, the two cities have been adding other retail options. That includes a recent H-E-B grocery store in Irving and Timberland, the brand known for its boots, at Grapevine Mills. 

Office Depot and OfficeMax have more than 20 stores listed on the website in the D-FW area.
