E.SUN Bank, one of Taiwan’s leading financial institutions, has opened a representative office in Dallas, becoming the first Taiwanese bank in the city. The move comes as Taiwanese businesses are expanding rapidly in North America, with Texas on the rise as a global business hub.
“Our new Dallas office is more than geographic expansion—it’s a commitment to powering the economic synergy between Taiwan and Texas,” Joseph Huang, chairman of E.SUN Financial Holding Co., said in a statement. “As the region attracts global capital and innovative industries, we are proud to serve as both catalyst and cornerstone for the next era of U.S.-Asia partnership, supporting Taiwanese enterprises and facilitating mutually beneficial investments.”
E.SUN’s Dallas office—at 2323 Ross Ave. No 730—is E.SUN’s second U.S. location after Los Angeles. It expands the company’s footprint “to better serve Taiwanese, Asian, and U.S. enterprises in America’s fastest-growing business corridor,” the bank said.
The move enables E.SUN to deliver hands-on support and local advisory services for companies navigating cross-border growth in a dynamic commercial landscape, the bank added.
Joining the Dallas business boom
E.SUN noted that Dallas is “riding unprecedented momentum, leading the nation in corporate headquarters relocations and business expansions in recent years.”
Fueled by a pro-business climate, a surge in tech sector investment, and the pending launch of the Texas Stock Exchange, the Dallas region has become a magnet for international capital—including major commitments from Taiwanese companies such as GlobalWafers, Foxconn, Wistron, and Inventec.
E.SUN said its arrival links Taiwan’s world-class high-tech economy with Dallas’ “surging innovation ecosystem,” providing a strategic gateway for Asian capital and building new financial connectivity between East and West.
The Dallas office complements the recently launched Taiwan Trade and Investment Center, located in the Pinnacle Tower on LBJ Freeway in Dallas.
The opening reflects the deepening partnership between Taiwan and Texas, a relationship reinforced by record-setting bilateral trade totaling $25.6 billion in 2024, and the launch of a direct Taipei-Dallas flight.
Taiwan has ‘strong economic ties’ to Texas
E.SUN said the new office marks Phase 1 of its Dallas expansion, with plans to offer full banking services—including corporate and commercial lending, trade finance, real estate project loans, and cross-border advisory support—upon receiving regulatory approval to operate as a U.S. branch.
Meanwhile, clients will be referred to E.SUN’s Los Angeles branch, ensuring “seamless service continuity and responsive support” for businesses navigating international growth.
E.SUN said its Dallas office will leverage local market insight and its global network that spans 35 locations across 11 countries to deliver flexible, comprehensive financial services for businesses with complex cross-border needs. Together with the Los Angeles branch, the Dallas office seeks to enhance supply chain support and facilitate both trade and investment across the U.S. and Asia.
Oct. 30 event featured E.SUN choir performance
E.SUN hosted a gala event on Oct. 30 that was attended by Huang, Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Jesse Moreno, Director General Yvonne Hsiao of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston, members of the Greater Dallas Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from both U.S. and Taiwanese enterprises.
The evening culminated in a cultural performance by the E.SUN choir, symbolizing the bank’s commitment to bridging cultures as well as economies.
“Since 1996, Taipei and Dallas have had a working relationship. Thank you for choosing Dallas and for placing your trust in our city as the location of E.SUN’s new office,” Moreno said at the event.
“As one of Taiwan’s most respected financial institutions, E.SUN Bank’s presence here in Dallas reflects the strong economic ties and growth between Taiwan and the U.S.—especially with Texas,” Hsiao said.
