Search expands for missing 77-year-old Corpus Christi woman; Border Patrol joins effort

Police said Gloria Brown’s disappearance poses a credible threat to her health and safety as officers ask the public to help locate her.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Update: Gloria Brown has been found safe, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.

Police said Brown was located at approximately 3:40 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Tiger Street and Oakhurst Drive. She was found responsive and was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation as a precaution.

The department thanked community members, partner agencies and officers who assisted in the search efforts and helped bring Brown home safely.

The search is growing for a missing 77-year-old Corpus Christi woman whose disappearance police say poses a credible threat to her health and safety.

The Corpus Christi Police Department said Gloria Brown was last seen by family members around 9 a.m. Sunday, June 28, near McArdle Road and Karchmer Drive.

Authorities said Brown was later seen around 12:40 p.m. near the intersection of Kostoryz Road and Gollihar Road.

On Monday morning, the Corpus Christi Police Department announced on Facebook that the U.S. Border Patrol was assisting in the search for Brown.

Police said investigators believe Brown’s disappearance poses a credible threat to her own health and safety and are asking anyone with information to come forward immediately.

Brown is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with reddish-brown hair. She was last seen wearing a bright blue shirt, blue jean shorts and a white hat.

Anyone who sees Brown or knows where she may be is asked to call 911 or the Corpus Christi Police Department’s non-emergency line at 361-886-2600.

Police have not released any additional information about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
