Summer is in full swing, and if you’re not sipping a cold drink on a patio, you might be checking out one of Austin’s newest restaurants.
June brought plenty of reasons to eat out, from the long-awaited return of Texas French Bread and new outposts of local favorites to unexpected closures, including Bar Peached, which experienced a devastating fire.
Here’s everything you need to know about the month’s biggest restaurant openings, closings and menu updates.

Austin Rotisserie opened a second location at ATX Kitchens on East Anderson Lane, offering pickup and delivery for North Austin customers.
The menu mirrors the downtown Fareground location and now includes porchetta sandwiches, smoked salmon baguettes, pâté en croûte, duck, chicken and salmon rillettes, crème brûlée and chocolate mousse.

Fleet Coffee, La Santa Barbacha, Rainey Street

Fleet Coffee and Michelin-recognized La Santa Barbacha have joined Bar Fino’s expanded Rainey Street space.
Fleet Coffee serves espresso drinks, pastries from Rockman Coffee + Bakeshop and seasonal beverages including a Key Lime Pie Latte, Matcha Mojito and the Daywalker cold brew.
La Santa Barbacha offers breakfast and lunch daily, with menu items like breakfast tacos, breakfast burritos, chilaquiles, barbacoa bowls and aguas frescas.

Gati Scoops, Hyde Park

Chef Jam Sanitchat expanded Gati with a second location in Hyde Park dedicated exclusively to dairy-free, gluten-free ice cream.
The scoop shop offers rotating seasonal flavors including Blackberry Cobbler, Mango Lime, Blueberry, Cookie Monster, Thai Coffee, Pandan, Golden Milk and Lavender Caramel, along with Hyde Park-exclusive Tamarind Candy ice cream and a Peach Cobbler Sundae. Guests can also order affogatos, brownie ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cakes and gluten-free baked goods.

Lucky Duck, South Austin
Neighborhood bar Lucky Duck has expanded beyond its East Austin roots with a new South Austin location featuring indoor and outdoor seating, pool tables and yard games. Sammataro is serving pizza from a truck on the patio.

Siam’s ATX
Siam’s ATX has opened in the former Super Thai space on South Lamar Boulevard, serving traditional Thai cuisine inspired by family recipes from across Thailand.

Texas French Bread
After operating from a food truck for nearly three years, Texas French Bread reopened its brick-and-mortar bakery and bistro in June. The bakery was forced to close after a fire heavily damaged the building in 2022.
The restaurant is now serving breakfast and lunch with summer hours from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The menu includes croissants, sourdough bread, cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies, cakes and other baked goods.

The Well, Bouldin Creek

Health-focused restaurant The Well opened a fourth Austin location in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with menu items including a pecan chicken salad sandwich, Texas Wagyu steak frites, pasture-raised chicken, sustainably sourced seafood, bone broth, smoothies and weekend brunch.

ClosingsBar Peached

West Sixth Street restaurant Bar Peached closed indefinitely after a fire severely damaged the restaurant on May 31.
Owner Eric Silverstein said much of the building will need to be rebuilt, and there is no timeline for reopening while insurance assessments and construction plans are underway.
P. Terry’s, Capital Plaza

P. Terry’s Burger Stand closed its flagship Capital Plaza restaurant on June 28 as Interstate 35 expansion work continues through Central Austin.
The location, known for its distinctive slanted roof, had operated for about a decade.
UpdatesPoeta opens upstairs cocktail bar
East Austin restaurant Poeta has expanded with a second-floor cocktail bar above its dining room.
The new space serves a spirit-forward cocktail menu featuring drinks such as the Dead Poet’s Society and Calabrian Coast, alongside Italian wines and Texas beers. The expansion also includes a new back patio.

Oria launches weekday lunch
Mediterranean restaurant Oria has introduced weekday lunch service from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The new menu includes lamb kefta skewers with tzatziki and herb salad, a mushroom shawarma bowl with quinoa and harissa aioli, wood-fired scorched corn and a $28 lunch combo featuring an appetizer and entrée.

Fish Shop adds seasonal seafood specials

Fish Shop introduced several limited-time seasonal dishes, including lobster ice cream infused with roasted lobster shells and finished with lemon zest, Maldon salt and Texas olive oil.
Other specials include Dungeness crab spaetzle with vadouvan curry butter and a smoked and pickled topneck clam served with ajo blanco and frozen green grapes.
