PAMPA, Texas (KVII) — The stars of one of the internet’s most popular Fourth of July videos are coming to Pampa for the city’s Hometown Independence Day Celebration.

The City of Pampa announced that Terry Davis, known online as “Back It Up Terry,” and his cousin, Eldraco Wooten, will be special guests at the celebration Saturday.

The two became internet sensations in 2017 after a fireworks video went viral on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and other social media platforms. In the video, Davis lights a firework while using a wheelchair but is unable to back away as the firework begins to launch. Wooten, who was recording the video, repeatedly yells for Davis to “back up” and “put it in reverse,” creating a moment that has become a holiday staple online.

Davis and Wooten are scheduled to ride in the Hometown Independence Day Parade, which begins at 10 a.m. at M.K. Brown.

They also will take part in meet-and-greet events at Recreation Park from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. They will sign and give away autographed photos while supplies last, pose for photos with attendees and sell event merchandise.

The celebration also includes a 5K beginning at 8 a.m. at the Freedom Museum, a veterans salute at noon, a free kids fishing derby from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a karaoke contest from 12:30 to 2 p.m., a foam party from 2 to 4 p.m. and a cornhole tournament.

Davis and Wooten also are scheduled to help kick off what city officials are calling Pampa’s largest fireworks show ever at 10 p.m.

Outside fireworks are not allowed at the event.
