EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 21-year-old man has been arrested after El Paso authorities said he stole back his vehicle after it was repossessed.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Donovan Acklin was arrested on June 25 after investigators believe he broke into a property located on the 14400 block of Cassidy Drive in Far East El Paso and stole a vehicle he previously owned but had gotten repossessed and was waiting to be auctioned off.
The vehicle was first reported stolen on June 18, but just a couple of days later, on June 23, the vehicle was found at an apartment complex on the 13500 block of Eastlake Boulevard in Horizon City, where deputies also found Acklin.
The Sheriff’s Office claims Acklin admitted to stealing the vehicle.

According to jail records, Acklin was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail, where he was charged with:
Property theftCriminal trespassCriminal mischief
A total bond of $7,000 was set.
Jail records show Acklin was released from jail on Sunday after posting a surety bond.
