Update at 3:46 p.m. on Thursday, July 2: A spokesperson for H-E-B told MySA that time slots for delivery and curbside pickup are beginning to open back up after a self-imposed pause and are available in most areas.
Shoppers across Texas were surprised on Thursday, July 2, when H-E-B seemed to suddenly pause orders for curbside and home delivery. Now, the chain has given more details on the reason for the outage ahead of the busy July 4 holiday weekend.
A spokesperson for the grocer told MySA via email, “We have issued a self-imposed pause on all Curbside and Home Delivery orders. This is not related to a software crash or security breach. We are communicating with impacted customers and expect to have the issue resolved shortly.”
The details come after multiple shoppers took to social media to figure out why they weren’t able to schedule an order. One shopper (@bauminater) on X noticed that on the H-E-B app, the earliest they could schedule delivery and curbside orders in San Antonio was 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 9. People across Texas had the same issue, as users on the r/heb subreddit noted it in Austin, Houston and the Dallas area. Likewise, when MySA went to check for ourselves, the H-E-B app showed no times available for curbside orders. As of 2:18 p.m. on July 2, the app has a notice that reads, “online ordering is currently unavailable. Check back soon.”
In response to one social post, H-E-B commented, “We are currently experiencing a system issue resulting in Curbside and Home Delivery delays. We are currently working on a resolution. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.”
As of yet, it’s still unclear when orders will come back online. This is a developing story, so check back with MySA for any updates.
