Now under new ownership, Dallas Trinity FC have named a new manager.
On Thursday, the club announced the appointment of Lee Nguyen as its first team manager and technical director. A native of Dallas who starred at Plano East, he joins Trinity FC after five seasons coaching in the National Women’s Soccer League, most recently as an assistant with Seattle Reign FC. Nguyen was also an assistant for the Washington Spirit and helped them capture the NWSL championship in 2021.
Before getting into coaching, Nguyen was a midfielder for the U.S. Men’s National Team and played his club soccer in the Netherlands, Denmark, Vietnam and MLS, where he had more than 250 appearances with the New England Revolution, LAFC and Inter Miami CF.
“This is an important moment for Dallas Trinity FC,” said Brian Corcoran, Sporting Director for Atlético Dallas (the USL Championship expansion team that recently acquired Trinity FC), in a statement.
“Lee’s résumé speaks for itself, but what impressed us most was his vision for building a winning culture. Since taking over the club, we’ve been clear that we want to invest in local players and local coaches whenever we can. Bringing home someone who grew up in this community, earned respect throughout the game as both a player and a coach, and now has the opportunity to lead this club made perfect sense.”
In 2026-27, Nguyen and Trinity FC will be looking to build on another strong season, which saw them reach the semifinals of the Gainbridge Super League. The club has played 56 Gainbridge Super League matches over the last two years, posting a 23-14-19 record.
