Paul Gerard Fain, born on April 2, 1961, in Mexico City, Mexico, passed away on May 28, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas, leaving behind a life marked by kindness, creativity, friendship, and a deep appreciation for the people and experiences that shaped him.
He lived his life with a generous spirit and a warm heart, and those who knew him will remember him for the easy way he made others feel welcome. He was the kind of man who brought steadiness, humor, and creativity to every part of his life. Whether he was working with his hands, building something lasting, or simply enjoying the company of others, he approached each day with sincerity and care.
Paul studied at Texas State University, where he continued to build the foundation for a life defined by hard work and determination. Over the years, he applied his talents in a variety of meaningful roles and pursuits. He was the owner of a flooring and tile business, where his craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident in the quality of his work. He also worked as a glass blower at Fire Island Glass, a role that reflected both his artistic ability and his patience. In addition, he served as the owner of Tarpon Icehouse and as a distribution manager for the Port Aransas South Jetty, demonstrating his versatility, strong work ethic, and commitment to the communities he served.
Paul’s interests and talents extended beyond his professional life. He had a deep appreciation for listening to live music, and he found joy in the energy, rhythm, and connection that music brought. His creative nature was evident in the many ways he engaged with the world around him, and his friendly personality made him a welcome presence wherever he went. He was known as a kind and creative man who valued genuine connection and treated others with respect.
He is survived by his wife, Dede Smith; his mother, Janet Sale; his stepfather, Jim Sale; his sister, Tanya Fain-Kobe; his brother-in-law, John Kobe; his brother, Keneth Fain; his sister-in-law, Carolyn LaPointe; and his nieces, Paxton Fain and Analisa Fain. He was preceded in death by his father, Ty Fain. His family will hold close the many memories of his life, his laughter, and the love he shared with them.
Paul’s life was one of quiet strength, creative expression, and meaningful relationships. He built a life that reflected who he was at his core, and he leaves behind a legacy of dedication, warmth, and authenticity. Those who loved him will remember his kindness, his creativity, and the friendly way he moved through the world. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will remain a source of comfort and gratitude to all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 12, 2026, 4pm-6p, at the Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church amphitheater, Port Aransas, Tx. There will be traditional pickers circle reminiscent of the old Tarpon Icehouse days. BYOB
