Against the backdrop of Galveston Harbor, the Battleship Texas became both stage and spectacle Friday night as drones painted the sky, fireworks burst overhead and the historic battleship punctuated the Fourth of July celebration with ceremonial gun salutes.
The patriotic display kicked off the Battleship Texas Foundation’s America 250 festivities, drawing spectators to the waterfront for an evening celebrating one of the nation’s most storied warships.
