Fort Worth’s City Plan Commission meeting on June 11 concluded in seven minutes after members addressed right-of-way stubouts along Maple Orchard Lane in the Orchard Village plans.
Senior city planner Alexander Parks presented the case and explained there was no need for right-of-way stubouts, because the city no longer envisions multifamily structures there. City plans now include single-family homes, which will make the neighborhood less dense. Stubouts are dead ends designed to accommodate future development, such as streets built through multifamily areas.
“It’s less dense,” Parks said. “It was previously more dense. Instead of single-family detached residential here, this was single-family attached townhomes.”

Parks said new plans would not need to be submitted to the city, because it is withdrawing a current plat revision and returning to a version already approved by the City Plan Commission.
The commission unanimously approved vacation of the right-of-way stubouts.
