Summer is heating up and we’re ready to celebrate with fun activities throughout July! Mark your calendar for these upcoming events with Arlington Parks, Recreation & Culture.
Light Up Arlington – Sunday, July 5
Arlington’s signature Independence Day celebration is getting bigger, brighter and more historic than ever! Light Up Arlington returns on Sunday, July 5 with an expanded fireworks and drone show. This year’s enhanced production will take place in the Arlington Entertainment District. Fireworks and drones will be launched from the east side of Choctaw Stadium, 1000 Ballpark Way, with a start time of 9:30 PM. The best viewing area for the show will be the grassy area surrounding Mark Holtz Lake, located near Choctaw Stadium and the National Medal of Honor Museum. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.

Splash Pad Story Time – Friday, July 17
Dive into a world of imagination and adventure at Splash Pad Story Time! This event will be held at the California Lane Park splash pad from 10-11 AM. Kids can come enjoy interactive stories, water-themed crafts, and splashing good fun at this free summer event.

Dive-In Movie – Friday, July 24
Movie night is making a splash at Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center! Join us for Disney & Pixar’s Luca on the big screen and enjoy a fun-filled summer evening with family and friends from 7:30-9:30 PM. Attendance is $8 per person and all ages are welcome. No floats allowed. Concessions available.
Sensory Swim – Saturday, July 25
Head out to Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center from 9-11 AM for a supervised, sensory-friendly swim! Children with special needs, their caregivers, and families are invited. Each individual needs to register for this all-ages event. Registration is $5 per person.
Dottie Day in the Sun – Saturday, July 25
Join us as we kick off summer with the ultimate party, packed with food, games, and community fun at Dottie Lynn from 2-6 PM! Enjoy hot dogs, lemonade, friendly competition and good vibes with a variety of activities, local vendors, and live music. Whether you’re here to play, shop, relax, or simply celebrate summer with friends and neighbors, there’s something for everyone at Dottie Day in the Sun! Attendance is $20 per person for this all-ages event.
