Dallas police said they responded to eight shooting calls Saturday.
Three people were injured in one of the shootings at about 10 p.m. in the 800 block of East Kirnwood Drive, police said. They were shot by an unknown person who left the scene before officers arrived, police said. The three victims were taken to a local hospital in stable condition, according to police.
Police said they also responded to several shootings early Sunday.
One of those incidents included a person being taken to a hospital in stable condition after being shot by an unknown suspect around 1:30 a.m. in the 7200 block of Great Trinity Forest Way, police said.
Two juveniles were injured in a separate shooting at 3:50 a.m. in the 5900 block of Highland Village Drive. Police said they were shot by an unknown suspect firing into the victims’ residence.
Dallas police have not immediately released the total number of shootings officers responded to Sunday morning.
Police said officers responded to 369 calls for random gunfire on the Fourth of July.
Dallas police said at a news conference last week they planned to increase patrols in areas that historically receive the most random gunfire complaints during the holiday weekend.
During last year’s Fourth of July holiday period, from July 1 through July 5, Dallas police responded to 5,739 random gunfire calls, according to police spokeswoman Allison Hudson.
