The Vickery is now open. The multifamily development at 700 W. Vickery Blvd. features 321 residences — 307 apartments and 14 townhomes — in one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts with some residences overlooking downtown Fort Worth.

The Vickery is from Fort Worth’s own Trademark Property Co., developers of the 5-acre site at West Vickery Boulevard and Hemphill Street that challenged multiple developers over the years because of utility and floodplain constraints.

The city of Fort Worth’s tax financing district for the area committed $3.3 million toward street, streetscape and public improvements at the site, and Trademark secured financing from a variety of partners.

Along with the living quarters, the development includes pickleball courts, a central public park, two dog parks and a sky lounge for residents. The project also includes a stand-alone 5,358-square-foot restaurant space with a rooftop patio area. No operator has been named for the restaurant.

“Bringing this project to fruition during one of the most challenging capital markets environments in recent memory underscores the strength of Trademark’s brand, the DFW market and the enduring appeal of thoughtfully designed multifamily communities,” said Chad A. Colley, multifamily and mixed-use partner at Trademark.

Speaking of Trademark …

Trademark is embarking on a second phase with the construction of Westbend Residences, a 321-unit multifamily project featuring 4,500 square feet of restaurant space on 3.5 acres along the Trinity River.  The plan for the property at 1701 S. University Drive also features trailhead improvements and public amenities, such as a bike repair station, public art and outdoor gathering spaces. Currently under construction, the Westbend Residences are set to open in the first quarter of 2027.

Also at Westbend, Trademark recently opened new Pottery Barn and West Elm retail locations. Coinciding with the openings, Trademark unveiled its latest art piece at Westbend:  two 12-foot installations created by Texan artist Jon Flaming. The mixed-use development, which opened in 2016,  showcases the company’s ongoing investment in public art.

“Jon is Texan through and through, so it was a natural decision to license art by him for Westbend,” said Terry Montesi, CEO and founder at Trademark. “Art plays an important part in our approach to placemaking, and we’re committed to creating places that form deep emotional connections with the surrounding community.”

Flaming is known for his bold and colorful representations of Texas scenes, such as cowboys, cattle and rural landscapes. His work hangs in many prominent museums, including the permanent collection of the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth and the Booth Western Art Museum in Georgia.

Aviation acquisition

Private equity firm Arcline Investment Management has entered into an agreement to acquire Avantus Aerospace Group from Inflexion. Avantus, a maker of engineered shims and fasteners for the global aerospace and defense industries, and its subsidiaries, will operate as brands of Fort Worth-based Novaria Group, an Arcline portfolio company. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Avantus products are embedded on virtually every major commercial, business jet, and defense aircraft platform in production today, serving over 1,600 customers worldwide with more than 25 million units delivered annually.

“Avantus is a tremendous addition to the Novaria family of brands,” said Bryan Perkins, CEO of Novaria, in a news release. “Their operational discipline, deep customer relationships, and leadership positions in shims and specialty fasteners are a natural complement to our capabilities.”

Founded in 2011, Novaria Group is a provider of specialized components and specialty processes that serve the aerospace and defense industries.

They will serve Frogs at the Zaxby’s planned for the TCU area. The fast-casual chicken chain has filed a construction plan with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for a new restaurant at

3051 S. University Drive in the former site of the Banh Shop. The estimated $500,000 project to outfit the 1,745-square-foot restaurant space is set to be completed by December of next year, according to the plans filed with the state, though those are usually just estimates.
