The side of a garage was left charred, but fire crews were able to douse a fire in Plano before it spread to the rest of a home.

The Little Rock-Fox Fire Protection District responded around 2:15 a.m. on July 5 to reports of a fire in the 600 block of Big Rock Avenue in Kendall County.

The fire crew was able to contain the fire to the garage with “minimal damage to the living area,” according to a release by the fire district.

An investigation of the site indicated the fire started in a trash can outside the garage before spreading to the side of the garage.

No cost estimate of the property damage was provided.

Several agencies assisted at the scene, including the Bristol Kendall Fire Protection District from Yorkville, the Oswego Fire Protection District, and the Sugar Grove Fire Protection District among others.
