It’s not every day you spot an award-winning actor at brunch. But that’s exactly what happened at a family-owned North Texas restaurant when one of Hollywood’s biggest stars stopped in for breakfast-lunch.
While filming his new series, Frisco King, Samuel L. Jackson paid a visit to Eggsquisite Cafe‘s Fort Worth location at 9316 Clifford St.
His cafe cameo made the rounds on social media after a Facebook post showed photos of the 77-year-old actor posing with Eggsquisite’s staff. Owner Raymond McGaw told Chron Jackson popped in with a guest around 1 p.m. on July 1—two days before attended the FIFA World Cup 2026 match between Australia and Egypt at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
As a longtime fan, McGaw said he recognized him immediately, but the server didn’t recognize Jackson at first, thinking the request for a table with a little privacy was for “no specific reason other than just that they wanted a little privacy.”
Later, she realized the seemingly ordinary pair included the A-list actor, sporting a bucket hat and sunglasses.
“I would say halfway through the meal, she was like, ‘I swear that sounds and looks like Samuel L. Jackson,’ and I said, ‘It is.'”
McGaw believes it was Jackson’s first-ever visit to Eggsquisite, which has two other locations in North Texas. They ordered the Spicy Chic N Bis, a fried chicken breast with a spicy seasoning blend served on a freshly-baked buttermilk biscuit, and the popular fried chicken and waffles drizzled with maple syrup.
“I was just kind of in awe, like just happy, that he was visiting and being a fan of him over the years since I was younger and him just being a pioneer in the acting industry. I was just kind of shocked to see someone of his caliber walk in,” McGaw said.
Given Dallas-Fort Worth’s bustling dining scene, McGaw said it was especially rewarding that Jackson chose Eggsquisite.
“Our thing is to take great care of all of our customers. In our industry, obviously customer service is at the forefront of what needs to be done for us to succeed and I think obviously they came because they’ve seen our website, our Google page and our reviews so it’s rewarding that all of our hard work was rewarded by somebody like him coming in due to that,” McGaw said.
This isn’t the first time Jackson has been seen dining around the Dallas-Fort Worth area recently. In May, he grabbed a midday meal at Madea’s Down Home Cooking, a Southern restaurant in Everman, according to The Dallas Morning News. The actor has been filming Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King spinoff series since the spring, as Chron previously reported. The upcoming eight-episode crime drama, which was originally called NOLA King, is anticipated to hit Paramount+ next year.
