Goulding announced Tuesday morning that he is joining CNN as an international correspondent based in Seoul, South Korea. The new role will put him on the ground covering major stories in South Korea and across the Asia-Pacific region for the network’s TV and digital platforms.
“Journalism has given me the privilege of meeting incredible people, witnessing history unfold and telling stories that truly matter,” Goulding wrote on social media. “I’m excited to continue sharing impactful, genuine storytelling from across the Asia-Pacific region, bringing context, humanity and curiosity to the stories shaping our world.”
“We are pleased to welcome Gage to our CNN Asia Pacific team,” Ellana Lee, CNN International’s group senior vice president, general manager for Asia Pacific and global head of productions, said in an announcement. “Gage’s passion for fast-paced, high-impact storytelling will be an asset when reporting on the important developments from this hugely dynamic and influential part of the world.”
The move answers a question Goulding left hanging when he announced last month that he was leaving KPRC after less than three years. At the time, he told Houston viewers his departure was “not goodbye” and teased that a “new chapter” was coming soon.
Goulding joined KPRC in December 2023 and covered some of Texas’ biggest stories, including major criminal investigations, natural disasters and consumer issues. In 2025, the Texas Association of Broadcasters named him Best News Reporter. He has also earned multiple regional Emmy Awards and was part of teams honored with Edward R. Murrow Awards for Overall News Excellence.
His exit came amid a string of recent departures from KPRC. Longtime investigative reporter Robert Arnold retired in June after 26 years at the station and 31 years in journalism.
Former meteorologist Brittany Begley was also recently fired after a viral social media post criticizing the TV news industry. Begley has since publicly aired grievances about her dismissal and accused station management of ignoring newsroom problems.
Before arriving in Houston, Goulding spent three years reporting for WBBH/WZVN in Fort Myers, Fla. His previous stops also include WTOV in Steubenville, Ohio, and KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh.
The Ligonier, Pa., native studied broadcast journalism at Robert Morris University. He earned a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award while still in college.
