EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – A new waste disposal facility is coming to El Paso County, which organizers said would help improve disposal services in the area.
The El Paso County Transfer Station offers a space to dispose of “construction debris, household waste, roofing materials, yard waste, concrete” and other approved materials. The facility is located off of the Hancock Expressway east of Circle Drive in southeast Colorado Springs.
A transfer station is a facility where waste can be unloaded, consolidated into trailers, and transported to landfills.
The parent company said providing additional disposal capacity is part of building sustainable growth for the region and adding a new facility will “help reduce travel time, improve efficiency, discourage illegal dumping, and make responsible waste disposal more accessible.”
