Country star, Rodney Atkins chats with Lauren Leal on Houston Life to chat about the release of his new album, ‘True South,’ a 12-track project that reflects on his rural upbringing and the life lessons that have shaped his career.
An Academy of Country Music Award winner, Atkins is celebrating three decades in the industry, known for songs that lean into family, faith and small-town living. He says the new record continues that theme, pairing a personal perspective of his life growing up in the South.
Atkins’ current single, “The Years Are Short,” is the latest from the album. He’s also getting ready to hit the road, with a summer tour that will spotlight “True South” while still making room for longtime fan favorites like “Watchin’ You” and “Farmer’s Daughter,” along with other top-charting hits.
