SOUTHEAST TEXAS — Thunderstorms packing strong winds and a lot of cloud-to-ground lightning rolled across Southeast Texas late Tuesday afternoon and early evening, leaving thousands of Entergy customers in the dark.

As of 8 p.m. Tuesday, more than 4,000 Entergy customers had lost electricity, according to the Entergy outage map.

In Jefferson County, the outages impacted more than 1,300 customers, primarily in Port Neches and Port Arthur.
