CASTRO COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) – The Castro County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers are investigating a homicide that took place Monday evening.
On July 6 around 8:50 p.m., officials received several 911 calls about a disturbance and a man being down near Avenue B and JD Street outside the Hart city limits.
The sheriff’s office says a deputy found a man on the ground with wounds outside of a home.
The deputy learned that those involved in the incident left the area in an unknown vehicle.
The sheriff’s office says the deputy provided first aid until Hart Rescue and Castro County EMS arrived. The victim was taken to Plains Memorial Hospital in Dimmitt where he died from his injuries.
Officials say they identified and found two people of interest at a different location in southern Castro County. Both are in custody.
The sheriff’s office says there is no threat to the public and the investigation is ongoing.
