San Antonio drivers making their way through the Far Westside are facing delays this Wednesday, July 8, morning. A busy road is partially shut down after a major crash happened during the early morning hours.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), officials have closed a stretch of Culebra Road between FM-1560/Steubing Road and Loop 1604. Drivers are currently moving at around 25 mph. The closure was initially reported at 5:38 a.m.
The accident occurred near Stillwater Parkway, according to the traffic monitoring site Sig Alert, which credited the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD). Traffic is being diverted through nearby neighborhoods, and tow trucks are on scene.
KSAT, citing the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), reports that one person died as a result of the crash. MySA reached out to SAPD and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) for more details, but did not immediately hear back in time for publication.
