Faculty unions sued Texas Tech University System leaders Wednesday over directives that they say stifle debate and undermine their teaching.
The system’s chancellor issued two memos in December and April that included requirements for professors at five institutions to disclose whether their course materials included subject matter about race, sexual orientation or gender identity, and to stop teaching those subjects until they got approval from the Board of Regents.
