A World War II veteran in El Paso is requesting 100 birthday cards for his 100th birthday.

Gabriel Malafronte, a resident of the Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home in Northeast El Paso, will turn 100 on Nov. 10, the Texas Veterans Land Board announced. His centennial birthday will be a day before Veterans Day on Nov. 11.

Texas Land Commissioner and Veterans Land Board Chairwoman Dr. Dawn Buckingham, in a news release, encouraged El Paso and the rest of Texas to help fulfill Malafronte’s wish for his milestone birthday through the Veterans Land Board’s 100 for 100 program.

Malafronte served during World War II and participated in 15 air missions over Germany, the Texas Veterans Land Board stated.
