Do you remember the first time you learned about American icon Marilyn Monroe? I sure do.
It was high school when I came across Andy Warhol’s 1967 portfolio of silkscreen prints of the famous actress on the internet. While I was in awe of the pop art images, I was curious to learn more about Monroe. What followed was a deep dive not only into her glamorous persona, but the hardships she faced as well.
If you are also fascinated by her, you have the chance to explore a collection of photographs taken by Lawrence Schiller before Monroe’s death in 1962 at Fort Works Art’s “Celebrate 100” exhibition. The show combines Schiller’s art with local fashion and storytelling to celebrate Monroe’s 100th birthday. Learn more about the exhibit below.
