EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A fire at the Johnson Apartments Wednesday night in Central El Paso left one woman dead and another resident displaced as investigators worked to determine what sparked it.
Not much is known regarding the identity of the woman, with the El Paso Fire Department only saying that she was in her 50s.
According to investigators, the fire started in one of the apartments and then spread to another.

One resident was displaced, and the Red Cross was called to help
The fire was reported at around 11 p.m. and it was put out within 30 minutes, according to EPFD.
Investigators also noted that a fire had been reported earlier on Wednesday; however, this one involved a vehicle parked in front of the apartments.

No word yet if the two fires are related.
“Our investigators are obviously conducting the investigation to see if there’s any connection there,” said Nina Brack, a fire official with the department.
The cause of both fires remains a mystery.
