1. Celebrate Dinosaur Day at UT

The Texas Science & Natural History Museum on the University of Texas campus is hosting Dinosaur Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

2. Learn to Swing Dance at the Blanton
Ever wanted to learn the Lindy Hop?
The Blanton Museum of Art is transforming its galleries into a dance floor for “Blanton All Day: The Swing Edition” on Saturday.

No dance experience is required, so bring a partner or come solo.
3. Explore Enchanted Rock’s New Backcountry
If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure, Enchanted Rock just got even bigger.
Texas Parks and Wildlife has opened a brand-new backcountry area, adding more than 10 miles of rugged hiking trails.
Before you head out, keep these tips in mind:
Park in the main parking lotPlan for an additional two-mile hike just to reach the backcountry entranceBring plenty of water, especially with summer heat
It’s a more remote experience for hikers looking to explore beyond the main dome.
4. Cool Off with a Free Night Swim
Looking for a way to beat the heat?
Barton Springs Pool offers a free night swim every evening from 9 p.m. to 9:50 p.m.
A few things to know before you go:
There are no lifeguards on duty during free swim.The pool does not offer free night swim on Thursdays because it closes early for cleaning.Parking fills up quickly, so arriving early is your best bet.
It’s one of the best ways to cool off after a hot Central Texas day.
