Two police departments worked together to prepare for something they hope never happens in their communities.
The Port Neches Police Department and the Groves Police Department conducted active shooter training yesterday at the Port Neches Middle School.
Officers strapped on protective vests and other equipment to simulate their response to an emergency.
“We plan together, bounce ideas off of each other, and set up some scenarios that will really be beneficial to our training, ” Groves City Marshal Christopher Robinson said. “It’s an amazing process.”
“It’s a big deal to us, ” Port Neches Police Chief Cheri Griffith said. “I know it’s a big deal to groves, and we do what we can to stay on top of our game and be ready for any situation that happens at the school.”
