CARTER COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) – A driver was taken into custody after Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said he led them on a high-speed chase on I-35 in Carter County Thursday afternoon.
Mark Schriefer, 72, of Dallas, was booked into the Carter County Jail on July 9.
He faces multiple charges for felony eluding, reckless driving, and operating a vehicle while impaired, according to OHP.

Troopers began pursuing Schriefer just after 3 p.m. on Thursday after multiple callers reported Schriefer was driving recklessly on the road.
Schriefer led troopers on a chase that lasted minutes, reaching speeds up to 120 miles per hour in moderate traffic.
Two minutes after the pursuit began, Schriefer lost control of his vehicle and wrecked into the center median.
Troopers then carried out a PIT maneuver on Schriefer, who was still attempting to drive on.
A standoff began after Schriefer’s vehicle came to a stop.
According to OHP, Schriefer refused to exit his vehicle when responding troopers and Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police officers used a gas canister and were able to arrest him.
The interstate was shut down in both directions for nearly an hour during the standoff.
Schriefer was transported to the Carter County Jail after receiving treatment for minor injuries at two different local hospitals.
He remains in custody at the Carter County Jail.
