Some customers lined up before dawn as the popular cookie chain celebrated its long-awaited Coastal Bend debut.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Cookie lovers didn’t mind setting an early alarm Friday morning as Crumbl Cookie officially opened its first Corpus Christi location, drawing long lines of customers eager for a sweet first taste.
Some fans arrived hours before sunrise to be among the first 100 customers, who received a commemorative grand opening T-shirt with their purchase.

For Amanda Davis, the opening means one less reason to leave town.
“We travel to San Antonio a lot because our kids play travel soccer, and we always make it a point to stop at Crumbl,” Davis said. “We’re really excited that it’s here today.”
She said having a Crumbl in Corpus Christi is more than just convenient.
“It means we can leave our business here in Corpus and not have to travel outside the city,” Davis said. “I’m really hoping it means Corpus is more open to adding more family-friendly things around here, particularly for the people who actually live here.”
Davis said her favorite Crumbl flavor is Lemon Raspberry, but with it not on this week’s menu, she planned to pick up the Twix cookie instead.
The excitement wasn’t limited to longtime fans. Some customers arrived as early as 1:50 a.m. to secure a spot in line and a grand opening T-shirt.
Juliet Cuvellis, who got in line around 5 a.m., said she had already visited Crumbl locations in San Antonio and was looking forward to trying the Marble Cheesecake cookie.
Others said the cookies—and the free T-shirt—made the early morning wait worthwhile.
Kolby Rawlings, one of the store’s owners, said bringing Crumbl to Corpus Christi has been years in the making. “We’ve always been a part of this community. We love it,” Rawlings said. “To be able to come down here, bring a cookie that we love and bring families together over the best desserts has been a dream come true.”
Rawlings said the response from the community exceeded expectations. “The support so far has been better than we imagined,” he said.
In addition to Crumbl’s signature Milk Chocolate Chip and Pink Sugar cookies, this week’s rotating menu includes flavors such as Twix, S’mores, Biscuit Skillet and Marble Cheesecake.
Rawlings said the rotating menu is one of the things that keeps customers coming back each week.
“This week may be one of the best lineups we’ve ever had for a grand opening,” he said. “Anyone who comes in today is not going to be disappointed.”
As a family-owned business, Rawlings said the goal is to become more than just another dessert shop. “We hope you guys feel the love we put in every cookie,” he said. “We hope you’ll continue to support us like we intend to support you.”
With cookies in hand, smiles on faces and a line stretching outside the door, many customers agreed the wait was worth it. Crumbl is located 4938 S Staples St D14.
