A human fetus was found deceased Friday morning, “intentionally discarded” in Lewisville’s Lake Park, police say.
Lewisville Police said they received a call at about 8 a.m. from a person who found the fetus along the Lewisville Lake shoreline, near Sandy Beach Road and Turtle Trail.
After arriving at the park, police officers located the fetus and secured the area while investigators scoured the park for evidence. After detectives and investigators with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office talked with witnesses, the scene was cleared.

Police said preliminary information indicates the fetus was between 5 and 6 months of gestation and was “intentionally discarded at the location.” Investigators did not reveal any other information about the child or say whether they found evidence indicating the child was delivered at the park.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the child’s identity and other characteristics.
