A revolving door of departures has hit KPRC 2 this year, with some of the Houston TV station’s biggest on-air personalities leaving within days of each other.
Since January, at least eight familiar faces have signed off from the station or seen their shows come to an end. Some have jumped to national networks or left TV news entirely, while others have yet to reveal what’s next.

Here’s who has left KPRC 2 so far in 2026 and where they are now.
Brittany Begley
Former KPRC 2 meteorologist Brittany Begley left the Houston station in June after two years. (KPRC)
In one of the station’s most dramatic exits this year, meteorologist Brittany Begley was fired from KPRC 2 in June after two years at the station.
Her dismissal followed a viral social media post criticizing the TV news industry that drew national headlines. Begley later confirmed she was fired and continued publicly airing grievances about her former workplace, accusing station management of ignoring newsroom problems and sharing what she described as internal emails and messages.
Begley had pledged to continue speaking about workplace culture, accountability and mental health while pursuing work in digital sales and marketing. She recently deactivated her Instagram account.
Gage Goulding
Former KPRC 2 reporter Gage Goulding is joining CNN as an international correspondent based in Seoul, South Korea. (CNN)
Gage Goulding left KPRC 2 in June after less than three years in Houston, but he wasn’t out of TV news for long.
The reporter recently announced he is joining CNN as an international correspondent based in Seoul, South Korea. Goulding will cover major stories in the country and across the Asia-Pacific region for the network’s TV and digital platforms.
He plans to relocate to Asia later this year.
Robert Arnold
Longtime KPRC 2 investigative reporter Robert Arnold retired in June after 26 years at the station. (KPRC 2)
Just days after Goulding announced his departure, longtime investigative reporter Robert Arnold revealed he was retiring after 26 years at KPRC 2 and 31 years in journalism.
Arnold hasn’t strayed too far from the news. He recently returned to the air as a guest co-host alongside Ernie Manouse on Hello Houston.
Melanie Camp
“Houston Life” reporter Melanie Camp left the KPRC 2 lifestyle program after four years. (KPRC 2)
The latest KPRC 2 departure came Friday, when Houston Life reporter Melanie Camp signed off from the lifestyle program after four years.
Camp hosted her final show alongside fellow correspondent Lauren Kelly.

The Australian native, whose career has spanned television, radio, acting and journalism, joined Houston Life in 2022 after co-hosting AM Buffalo at WKBW-TV in Buffalo, N.Y.
Camp has not yet revealed her next move.
Tessa Barrera

In April, Tessa Barrera stopped co-hosting Houston Life with Derrick Shore after a three-year run.
Barrera later told Chron that contract negotiations with station leadership didn’t land where she had hoped. Since leaving the show, she has made remained active on Houston airwaves. She has guest co-hosted Houston Public Media’s Hello Houston following former KPRC 2 chief meteorologist Frank Billingsley’s retirement from the program in April and filled in on Sunny 99.1 following recent layoffs at iHeartMedia. She has also continued releasing new episodes of her podcast, Tess Talks 2.0.
Chris Shepherd
Chris Shepherd’s KPRC 2 series “Eat Like a Local” ended in May after three seasons. (Houston Chronicle)
James Beard Award-winning chef also ended his run on KPRC 2 this year when his food series Eat Like a Local wrapped after three seasons in May.
The show launched in 2023 and took viewers across Greater Houston to spotlight the restaurants, cultures and people shaping the city’s food scene. Shepherd said the experience helped him discover “a new talent outside of the kitchen” and teased that something else could be coming next.
“I can’t wait to show……. what’s next,” Shepherd wrote when announcing the show’s end.
Haley Hernandez

Longtime health reporter Haley Hernandez left KPRC 2 in April after 12 years at the station, trading the newsroom for one of Houston’s largest hospital systems.
Hernandez joined the media relations team at Memorial Hermann Health System after her exit.
“The hospital offers me the ability to continue sharing the medical miracles that Houston is so well known for, while also valuing my role as a mother and gives me a flexible work/life balance,” she told Chron at the time.
Zach Lashway
Former KPRC 2 anchor and reporter Zach Lashway signed off from the Houston station in January. (KPRC 2 Houston)
After more than 15 years in TV news and more than four years on Houston television, anchor and reporter Zach Lashway signed off from KPRC 2 for the last time in January.
Lashway, who joined the station in 2021, previously worked at KARE 11 in Minneapolis and NBC News in New York. He has not publicly announced his next move.
