EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in Northeast El Paso in 2023.

According to Crime Stoppers, 57-year-old Pedro Salas was crossing on Dyer Street near Hercules around 8:41 p.m. on June 10, 2023, when he was struck by a light-colored four-door car.

Investigators said Salas was crossing the southbound lanes of Dyer when the vehicle hit him, knocking him to the ground. Authorities said that Salas was then struck by a second vehicle whose driver was identified.

Police said the driver of the first car fled the scene.

Salas was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The case is now being featured as Crime Stoppers of El Paso’s Crime of the Week as they seek tips to identify the driver who fled.
