BEDFORD – Ramona “Mona” (née Stanley) Massey, born July 28,1941 in Alton, Illinois, passed away July 6, 2026, in Bedford, Texas. Mona moved to Fort Worth at a young age and always considered it her hometown. She met her husband, Jack Massey, while working as an elevator operator with the city of Fort Worth. They shared 52 happy years of marriage until his death in 2013. The couple enjoyed square dancing and going on road trips. In 1970, they adopted their son, Daniel. In recent years Mona enjoyed getting a good deal at estate sales, which she often went to with her neighbor and good friend, Jan Tidwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Massey; her parents, Raymond and Hilda Stanley; and her sister, Gloria Starnes. Mona is survived by her son, Daniel Massey; brother, Raymond Dennis Stanley, Jr. and wife, Maria; nieces, Glenda Smith, Annette Hinkle and partner, Les Beadle, and Joy Offner and husband, Robbie; and her best friend, Jan Tidwell. A visitation and viewing will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2026, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107; followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow services in Greenwood Memorial Park.
