Typhoon Texas, located at 555 S. Katy Fort Bend Rd., hosted its inaugural ‘Grown Up Getaway’ on Saturday, opening its gates exclusively to guests 24 and older for a night of waterslides, a lazy river, live music, fireworks and drinks.
Photos from the event quickly gained traction on social media, where attendees praised the event, calling it the “best night ever” and asking when the next adults-only night would be held.
“This was one of the best days of my life. I’m not even joking,” one person replied.
But it wasn’t just the event drawing attention. Typhoon Texas’ social media team became a standout of its own for how they handled the comment section, particularly when responding to critics.
The account was active under several event posts, clapping back at some folks with replies that earned laughs and support from other users. Some commenters made discriminatory remarks, prompting Typhoon Texas to respond in a tone that was both funny and firm.
In one exchange, the park responded to a commenter: “This comment is why you broke your foot. Do not come on here actin wild.”
In another, after a commenter called a photo of the event “Nasty,” the business replied, “have you seen your profile pic?”
A flood of comments suggested the event went off without a hitch and that many attendees were already looking forward to the next one—with special praise reserved for the unexpected star of the show: Typhoon Texas’ social media team.
“Whoever running y’all social media needs a raise and pto,” one user wrote.
