You’re going to need that umbrella this week.

The forecast calls for storm and shower chances to ramp up beginning on Monday. The best chance coming in the afternoon and evening.

Rain chances will continue through Wednesday, bringing a risk of street flooding. Remember, if you come across high water, do not drive through it!

Some areas could pick up 1 to 2 inches of rain each day, with locally higher amounts near 3 inches.

Storms are also expected in other parts of the state, and Gov. Abbott has directed the Texas Department of Emergency Management to activate resources to help across Texas.

“The State of Texas will deploy all necessary resources to help local officials respond to potential severe weather and flash flooding across the state,” Abbott said in a news release. “I urge all Texans to monitor local forecasts, heed guidance from state and local officials, and always remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Texas will support our communities as these threats develop.”
