Tuesday was a busy day on the waiver wire for the Texas Rangers.

The team announced they acquired catcher Willie MacIver and right-handed pitcher Michel Otañez from the Athletics via waiver claim.

Additionally, outfielders Dustin Harris and Billy McKinney cleared waivers and became free agents.

MacIver, 29, played in 33 games and slashed .186/.252/.324 for the Athletics after making his major league debut in 2025. He had been a very productive Triple-A hitter before his call-up, putting up a .967 OPS in 2025 and a .911 OPS in 2024.
