LUBBOCK, TX (NEWS RELEASE) – The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce will host the inaugural 2026 ChambHER Luncheon, presented by Geary Law, on Wednesday, August 26th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the West Texas Home Builders Association.

The Lubbock Chamber is committed to creating meaningful connections and highlighting the leaders who help make our community stronger. The inaugural ChambHER Luncheon, held on National Women’s Equality Day, will celebrate the women who are making an impact across Lubbock and provide an opportunity to hear the stories, experiences, and perspectives of women leaders in our community.

The idea for a luncheon celebrating women was one that 2026 Chamber Board Chair Chris Chambers, CEO of Chambers Engineering, was passionate about supporting. Through collaboration with Chamber leadership and community partners, that vision is coming to life as the first-ever ChambHER Luncheon, creating a space to empower and recognize women across all industries, backgrounds, and stages of life.

“Part of the Chamber’s mission is creating opportunities for our community to connect and learn from one another,” said Chambers. “This luncheon gives us the opportunity to celebrate women from all walks of life who are making a difference right here in Lubbock. Whether they are leading companies, working in male-dominated industries, raising families, starting their careers, or serving our community in countless ways, every woman has a story worth celebrating. I am excited to help bring this event to life and create a space where those stories can be shared.”

“Geary Law is honored to be the presenting sponsor of the ChambHER Luncheon,” said Elizabeth Geary, Founder and Trial Lawyer of Geary Law. “The women who make up this panel represent the talent, leadership, and drive that exists within our community. Each of them bring such unique perspectives and experience that will make this conversation meaningful for our community. I am excited to be part of an event that recognizes the women who are helping shape Lubbock and creates an opportunity for others to learn from their journeys.”

The ChambHER Luncheon panel will feature three accomplished women leaders from across the Lubbock community:

Dr. Lori Rice-Spearman is the ninth president of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and the first woman to lead an institution within the Texas Tech University System. A West Texas native and TTUHSC alumna, she has dedicated nearly 40 years to the university, serving in numerous leadership roles and helping grow the School of Health Professions into one of the largest in the nation. Under her leadership, TTUHSC has earned national recognition for excellence in healthcare education, research, and innovation. In 2024, she was appointed to the Texas HealthCare Workforce Task Force to help address the state’s growing healthcare workforce needs.

Dr. Cicely Alexander is the Executive Director of Counseling and College, Career & Military Readiness for Lubbock ISD and a respected leader in education with more than 30 years of experience. Throughout her career, she has inspired students, supported educators, and strengthened the community through leadership rooted in service and purpose. Recognized for her transformational leadership and dedication to education, Dr. Alexander has been honored for her impact and her commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders.

Dr. Brooke Hobgood is the President and COO of Masked Rider Capital, where she leads operations and helps guide the firm’s long-term vision. A board-certified anesthesiologist and entrepreneur, she brings a unique perspective shaped by her experience in healthcare, business, and organizational leadership. As the founder of Ivy Specialty Compounding and an active community volunteer, Dr. Hobgood is committed to creating meaningful impact through innovation and service.

Christy Hartin, News Anchor at KCBD-TV, will serve as the emcee for the inaugural ChambHER Luncheon.

The Lubbock Chamber invites the community to be a part of this event as we celebrate women’s leadership and recognize the many ways women continue to contribute to the growth and success of Lubbock.
