EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The person who was hit by a car Friday night and left with serious injuries in Central El Paso has passed away.
According to the El Paso Police Department, 79-year-old Lorenzo Sanchez died in the hospital from the injuries he suffered after he was hit by a car while crossing the street at 4600 Dyer St. on Friday at around 10:42 p.m.

Investigators believe Sanchez crossed the street outside a pedestrian crossing area when they were hit by a 2017 Cadillac XT5 that was driving south on Dyer.
The driver of the Cadillac is not facing charges.
According to police statistics, this is the 26th traffic death of 2026, compared to 33 at the same time in 2025.
