Torrential downpours across the San Antonio region and beyond are causing havoc on highways and at low-water crossings on Tuesday morning. As a result, school districts in the area are choosing to cancel classes.
Kerrville ISD posted a notice on social media stating, “Due to current weather conditions there will be no SAC or SSI sessions on Tuesday, 7/14/2026. Information has been communicated through sportsYou. Thank you for your support and stay safe.”
Bandera ISD has decided to delay the opening of its offices and campuses until 10 a.m. today due to road closures. The district has also canceled Strength & Conditioning Camp and all related skills/practices for the day. The Summer Feeding Program is canceled as well.
Heavy rain is expected across the region through Thursday at 7 p.m., with a flood watch in place until then. Parts of the region west of Bexar County have received nearly 9 inches of rain since Monday night.
The rain has already caused closures across San Antonio, and highways are dotted with crashes across the region, including a major crash on Loop 1604.
This is a developing story. Check back for new updates.
