Nasdaq Texas, the company’s new dual-listing exchange in Texas, named its inaugural advisory board in June.
Nasdaq Texas became fully operational as a dual-listing exchange in March after the Securities and Exchange Commission approved its listing rules. The advisory board is chaired by Ed Knight and includes Danny David, Danny Wesson, Jay Brown, Jill Lampert and Pat Frost.
“Texas has earned its place at the center of American capital markets,” Knight, the Chairman of Nasdaq Texas Advisory Board and Nasdaq’s Executive Vice Chairman said. “The companies choosing this state deserve an exchange and an advisory structure that takes that seriously. I am proud to chair this board and to help Nasdaq Texas continue to build on the momentum this state has created.”
David is managing partner of Baker Botts, a global law firm with more than 750 attorneys. In addition to leading the firm, he maintains an active practice representing companies as well as their directors and officers.
Wesson is executive vice president and chief operating officer of Diamondback Energy, a Permian Basin oil and natural gas company. He has led the company’s operations since February 2022.
Brown is chief executive officer of David Weekley Homes, , a Houston-founded master-plan land development company started 50 years ago. Nasdaq describes the business as one of the nation’s largest privately held homebuilders, with business across Houston, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio.
“I’m excited to support Nasdaq Texas and the role it will play in helping more companies grow and scale across the state,” Brown wrote in a LinkedIn post.
Lampert is chief financial and administrative officer of NGP Energy Capital Management, an energy private equity firm founded in 1988. Nasdaq says the firm has more than $25 billion in cumulative equity commitments across natural resources and the energy transition.
Frost is the former president of Frost Bank. He retired from the executive role in 2023 and has served on more than 40 nonprofit boards.
The advisory board serves as a forum for Texas business leaders to discuss capital formation, corporate governance, policy and economic trends with Nasdaq Texas President Rachel Racz. Nasdaq says the board will help guide the exchange’s regional approach and relationships with businesses across Texas.
Nasdaq is positioning the advisory board as part of its broader effort to attract companies in Texas and expand its regional listing strategy.
