Heavy rain overnight and into Wednesday morning has caused flooding and prompted at least 12 road closures across San Antonio, according to the Bexar Flood map. The closures are affecting several parts of the city as rain continues to fall on July 15. Flooding is also impacting highways. High water is being reported by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) at I-35 at Salado Creek.
A flood watch issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) remains in effect for the following counties until 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 for the following counties: Bandera, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Llano, Maverick, Medina, Real, Travis, Uvalde, Val Verde, Williamson, and Zavala. Meanwhile, a flash flood warning is in effect until 8:30 a.m. Tuesday for eastern Bandera County.
The storms also led to a few power outages in San Antonio. As of 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15 CPS Energy outrage map reported at only 6 outages impacting 12 customers.
