What to expect temperature-wise:
Cooler temperatures will stick around through the rest of the work week before conditions gradually warm up this weekend. Highs today will be in the 80s for most with a few upper 80s and low 90s off of the Caprock.

Thursday and Friday’s rain chances:
Thursday and Friday bring much better rain opportunities. Rain chances increase substantially across a larger portion of the South Plains, with the southern areas keeping the greatest potential for rainfall. Some storms could produce locally heavy rain, which could lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas and poor drainage zones.

The primary concern with any storms Thursday and Friday will be heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will remain possible through Saturday as well.
