Police say the woman intentionally struck another vehicle, sending it into a utility pole. No serious injuries were reported.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A woman is facing a driving while intoxicated charge after police said she intentionally struck another vehicle, causing it to crash into a utility pole in Corpus Christi on Wednesday.
Lt. Colby Burris with the Corpus Christi Police Department said the crash happened on the intersection of Agnes St. and Brownlee Blvd. No serious injuries were reported, although the suspected driver was taken to a local hospital before being booked into jail.

“It appears she was under the influence and then intentionally struck another vehicle,” Burris said.
Police said the force of the crash pushed one of the vehicles into a nearby utility pole, causing damage.
“The initial impact was with that vehicle, and then just from the energy of the crash, the vehicle got sent over here and struck this pole,” Burris said.
No major injuries were reported. Burris said the occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash had already left the scene before officers spoke with the media.
The suspected impaired driver was taken to a local hospital before being booked into jail. AEP Texas responded to repair the damaged utility pole. Police said they were not aware of any power outages caused by the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
