They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Lake Highlands Wildcats on Tuesday. The Panthers haven’t had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Plano East wouldn’t go down easily and took Lake Highlands into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-13, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12.
Lake Highlands lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carrigan Anderly, who had 34 assists and 19 digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last 16 times she’s played. Brylie Woodbury was another key player, getting 25 digs and three assists.
Plano East’s victory bumped their record up to 30-10. As for Lake Highlands, their loss dropped their record down to 28-9.
