ARLINGTON, Texas (KLTV/KTRE) – Several East Texans have been chosen to represent their schools at different Texas Girls Coaches Association all-star games this weekend.
Three East Texans will compete in the all-star volleyball game.
In Classes 1A-4A, Beckville’s Adyson Davis is on the red team, while Central Heights’ Peaches Gallien and Rusk’s Lillian Gates will represent the blue team. The game will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Arlington Martin High School.
Four players and two coaches will represent East Texas in the all-star softball game.
In Classes 5A-6A, Tyler Legacy’s ReNaa Hicks will be on the red team. The game for Classes 5A-6A will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Workman Softball Complex in Arlington. On the red team in Classes 1A-4A will be Bullard’s Lila Robertson, Carthage’s Mya Nelson and Spring Hill’s Sophie Robinett. The coaches for the blue team are Bullard’s Julie Murry and Spring Hill’s Donald Gray. The game for Classes 1A-4A is Friday at 7 p.m.
In the all-star basketball game, East Texas will have four players and one coach represented.
For Classes 5A-6A on the red team is Tyler Legacy’s Zareya Ceasar, and she will be coached by Ross Barber, also of Tyler Legacy. The Classes 5A-6A game is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. at Arlington High School. In Classes 1A-4A on the red team is Martin’s Mill teammates Kara Nixon and McKenna Wise, along with Winnsboro’s Hadlee Brown. The Classes 1A-4A game will tip off at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Six athletes were named to the track and field all-star team.
In Classes 1A-4A, Chapel Hill’s Aryssa Cooper, Central Heights’ Micah Hayman, Pittsburg’s Araceli Moreno and Lovelady’s Kynnedi Reynolds were named. In Classes 5A-6A, a pair of Marshall teammates, Amira Mopkins and Corie Wilmington, were named. The presentations will take place at Arlington High School with Classes 1A-4A on Friday at 6 p.m. and Classes 5A-6A at 8 p.m.
Six cheerleaders and two coaches were named to the all-star cheer team. The teams will be performing at halftime of the all-star basketball games on Friday and Saturday. In Classes 5A-6A, Lufkin’s Madelyn Johnson is on the red squad and her coach, Danielle Caples, is leading the squad. On the blue squad is Jacksonville’s Ryan Ramirez. In Classes 1A-4A, Gilmer’s Adleigh France and Brylee Bowman are on the red squad with Tatum’s Lexie Ford. The red squad is coached by Gilmer’s Carly Riley. White Oak’s Austyn Noll was named to the blue squad.
