LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Alliance Credit Union has been added to the National Purple Heart Trail. A proclamation was made recognizing the credit union’s support for veterans and military families.
The recognition is tied to the credit union’s Alliance Stars program, which provides perks and benefits for veterans, active-duty military and first responders.
Steve Oien, Commander for the Military Order of the Purple Heart South Plains, said the designation reflects the credit union’s commitment to the veteran community.
“We’re honored by that recognition and so we honor organizations with a purple heart designation who support veterans some way or another,” Oien said.
The West Texas State Veterans Cemetery is also part of the Purple Heart Trail. The trail honors recipients of the Purple Heart, which is awarded to service members wounded or killed in combat.
