EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said one of its K9s assisted in arresting a woman with felony warrants.
Deputies said they got a report of a woman entering a home on Wooddale Road without permission on July 7, just after 11 p.m.
Deputies then searched the home and the surrounding area, finding the suspect, 35-year-old Shandra Rathke, along Forest Road, near South Academy Boulevard and I-25.
The sheriff’s office said Rathke was known to have a no-bond felony warrant issued by the Department of Corrections.
Deputies ordered Rathke to exit the home, but she refused, according to deputies.
K9 Dex responded to the home, and deputies made more commands. EPSO said the woman eventually exited the home peacefully after being warned that the K9 would be deployed.
EPSO said she is being held at the El Paso County Jail without bond due to a parole hold and has an $800 cash bond for charges of criminal mischief and third-degree assault.
